In its latest show of support for Nancy hopeful Niamh Perry, North Down Borough Council is literally painting the town! The slogan Vote Niamh for Nancy is being painted in 4 foot high letters on the grass bank in Castle Park, Bangor town centre.
It will be a striking visual reminder for people to vote for the local girl as she competes to be chosen as Nancy in the Musical ‘Oliver’ through the BBC competition ‘I’ll Do Anything’.
Mayor of North Down, Councillor Dr Stephen Farry MLA commented:
“Niamh Perry has performed spectacularly well so far and needs the support of the people of North Down and further afield to continue to proceed in the competition.”
“She has made a huge impression both on the judges, but also local people. Both the Mayoress and I watch the programme regularly, and offer our own support.”
“There is huge interest in Niamh and this television competition. Her family and the wider community are rightly proud of Niamh and her accomplishments. I have a connection in that I attended the same primary and secondary school – and both schools and their pupils are strong supporters.”
“She is a great ambassador for Bangor and North Down. She has brought great credit to herself, and to her local community.”
“Whatever the outcome of this particular contest, she is destined for a spectacular future.”
