As Holywood continues to evolve into the jewel of Northern Ireland, a
speciality shopping town, Glamour 08 is being organised by the town's businesses with the discerning shopper in mind. Herbert Gould Interior Design service will be transforming Holywood's Queen's Hall for the event, creating an opulent and intimate venue for the evening.
Those lucky enough to bag one of the show's 200 exclusive tickets will be spoilt by a champagne and canape reception on arrival (sponsored by The Attik Cafe Bar & Bistro and The Bay Tree), during which time guests will be given the opportunity to browse art exhibits (The Yard Gallery, Whalley Gallery and Charles Gilmore Art Gallery) and select displays from some of the town's most coveted stores (Little Leaf, Bebe, Pumpkin Pie and Urban Orchard). Guests can look forward to viewing a number of exclusive lines including Penhaligons and India Hicks and luxury designs from Orla Kiely and Johnny Loves Rosie.
A runway show, staged by Maureen Martin and incorporating the cream of the town's fashion will also feature on the evening. Boutiques involved include Artiqua, the Bridal Suite and Chocolat, with must have designers including Shanghai Pearls and Meghan Fabulous gracing the catwalk. Models will be styled by Patrick Mulholland Hair and accessories from RA Glass and Mackey
Opticians will also be featured.
Holywood's very own specialist vintage store Previously Loved is introducing an exclusive bespoke evening gown service by local designer Lizzie Agnew. These pieces, plus many more from Previously Loved's collections will be showcased on the runway.
The store's owner Miss Tracy commented:
Holywood now boasts so many specialist boutiques and shops and has become the place for those who dare to be different and seek out that extra special something. The perfect place for brunch, lunch, shops and excellent customer service, Holywood is the epitome of what the retail experience should be. This event showcases the best of what the town has to offer and Previously Loved is delighted to be
part of the excitement.
Womens fashion boutique Red Ruby Rouge will also showcase its US designers, many of which are exclusive to the store in the UK and Ireland. The much sought after lines include Adam, Kara Janx, Robert Rodriguez, Myne, Madison Marcus, Nugaard and Tucker by Gaby Basora. Fiona Kennedy, the store's owner added:
"We like to think of Holywood as the mini Manhattan of Northern Ireland. A high street without the ubiquitous 'high street' characteristics, instead it is a jewel box of independent boutiques, eateries and new talent. The perfect destination town."
The event, which is jointly sponsored by First Trust Bank, the Holywood Chamber of Commerce and Bangor and Holywood Town Centres aims to raise significant funds to be donated to Breast Cancer Care and Holywood-based charity Camphill Community.
David Duly, President of Holywood Chamber of Commerce said, "We're delighted to assist in sponsoring Holywood Glamour 08 which will showcase the very best products and services that the town has to offer. We are extremely proud of Holywood's reputation as a speciality-shopping town. The number of new businesses that have opened in Holywood in the past few years is testament to its popularity and Glamour 08 will highlight the very best that the town has to offer shoppers and visitors alike."
