Carole Stewart's production of 'The Bay at Nice' by David Hare was judged winner of the AUDF one-act final on Friday 1st February at the Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl. This intriguing play is set in a Leningrad museum in the fifties where Valentina has been invited to help authenticate a picture, thought to be by Henri Matisse by whom she was taught during a mis-spent youth in Paris. The cast for this production is Carole Stewart as Valentina, Heidi Stewart as her daughter Sofia, Brian Sleith as Peter and Peter Gilroy as the Assistant Curator. The play now goes forward to the British Finals to be held in Swansea on 4th and 5th July. Holywood Players won this prestigious award 2 years ago with Jennifer Johnston's 'The Invisible Man' and we have high hopes for this production also.
