Take 3 for Belfast Film Festival in 2003

If three is the magic number then the omens are looking good for the third Belfast Film Festival, which announced its programme line-up at Belfast City Hall.

Festival Highlights

This year’s festival will open with the brand new Goldfish Memory. Starring Flora Montgomery (When Brendan met Trudy), Stuart Graham (As the Beast Sleeps) and Jean Butler (River Dance). Goldfish Memory is set to make a big splash with worldwide audiences, premiering in Belfast before crossing the Atlantic to be screened in the New York Film Fleadh. The film takes a light-hearted look at the dangers and delights of dating in contemporary Ireland! Members of the cast, producer and director will join us on the Opening Night Gala. Tickets for this event are sure to sell fast so book early to avoid disappointment.

Closing the festival will be the Irish premiere of Black and White the new film starring Robert Carlyle, Charles Dance and Kerry Fox. Based on a true story David O’Sullivan (Robert Carlyle) defends an Aboriginal man who has been arrested for the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl. This is a wonderfully compelling story which wowed audiences at the Sydney Film Festival.

For the young at heart Belfast Film Festival will screen the Irish Premiere of The Jungle Book 2! This one-off screening adds an all-new chapter to one of Disney’s best loved animated classics.
