The aim of Culture Night is to reinvigorate town centres, to open doorways to a renewed sense of community where local people and local businesses interact not just as proprietors and consumers but as partners.
We at Holywood Shared Town, recognise, after having consulted with local businesses and representatives from our community that everyone wants a prosperous Holywood, a Holywood where prosperity is shared throughout our community. We also believe that local businesses want to be an integral part of this process of reinvigoration. As part of this project Culture night aims to fuse the cultural capacity available in Holywood with local businesses for the benefit of everyone.
As with Culture Nights elsewhere we expect Main Street to be awash with local bands, dancers, jugglers, poets, choirs, actors, drum groups, hip-hoppers; and we are asking local businesses, whether a bookshop, restaurant, pub, cultural centre, café, hairdresser, supermarket, it doesn’t matter, to open the doors late into the evening, connect with the artists and performers and welcome people of all ages to taste and sample the cultural delights Holywood has to offer for free.
We believe that as in Dublin and Belfast this will be the start of forging new relationships between Town Centre businesses and our local community as well as an added bonus of increased footfall as thousands of people venture to the Town Centre to be part of the festivities.
If you wish to be part of the Culture Night celebrations and are willing to host a performance in your premises, please feel free to contact Holywood Culture night at the following
