It's official, visitors get the warmest welcome in Northern Ireland compared to the whole of the UK!
That's what judges decided when they awarded local woman Bernie McClelland, from Rayanne House, in Holywood County Down the prestigious AA Friendliest Landlady of the Year Award 2010.
The award is UK wide, and Bernie was presented with the award in London after attending this year's AA B&B Awards ceremony held at the Royal Houseguards Hotel.
I'm delighted to win this title from over 3,000 B&B's across the UK" , explained Bernie ... "It's a great honour for me personally for Rayanne House, and for the hospitality industry in Northern Ireland".
Rayanne Guesthouse and Restaurant has been run by husband and wife team Bernie and Conor McClelland for the last 8 years. Since opening in 2002 it has been awarded 5 stars by the AA and also awarded the Egg Cup for their gourmet breakfast and it recently launched a Titanic Menu.
It has also been commended in the Northern Ireland Tourist Board Awards for the last two years and highly commended by The Michelin Guide, Georgina Campbell, The Good Hotel Guide and Fodders.
The AA B&B Awards annually recognise and reward establishments and individuals that demonstrate all-round excellence, unfailing standards, and provide an outstanding service for their guests.
It's a fantastic recognition of the warm welcome and high level of service visitors can expect to receive at Rayanne House. I take pride in trying to make visitors feel at home and ensuring tourists are made aware of all the wonderful things we have to offer in Northern Ireland.
Bernie McClelland was nominated by a secret AA inspector who stayed at Rayanne House.
